OhioDDR’s expectations of event participants can be simplified to a single sentence: Don’t be a jerk.
Participants of OhioDDR events come from many backgrounds, and we want everyone to feel welcome and safe at our events. Anyone who is determined to be contributing against this goal may be asked to stop, directed to leave the event, or banned from participating in future OhioDDR events.
To ensure a fun, respectful, and inclusive experience for everyone, all attendees must follow this Code of Conduct:
- Be Respectful – Treat all participants, staff, volunteers, and spectators with kindness and courtesy at all times.
- No Harassment or Discrimination – Disparaging remarks about anyone’s skill level, appearance, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other personal attribute will not be tolerated.
- Good Sportsmanship – Celebrate victories and accept losses with grace. Encouragement and support go a long way.
- Personal Space and Consent – Respect others’ personal boundaries. Ask before touching equipment or people, or taking photos/videos.
- Substance Use – Do not attend the event while heavily intoxicated. If you choose to consume alcohol or other legal substances beforehand, do so responsibly and in moderation.
- Keep It Clean – Use appropriate language and behavior. This is a shared space for everyone to enjoy.
- Respect the Space – We are guests at Round1, the concert venue and host hotels. Please be respectful of venue staff, hotel staff, property, and other customers or guests. Disruptive, damaging, or disrespectful behavior toward non-participants, venue property or staff will not be tolerated.
- Listen to Staff – If an OhioDDR staff member or event volunteer asks you to do (or not do) something, follow their instructions. They are here to ensure a smooth and safe experience for everyone.
While this Code of Conduct does not list every possible offense, it is an attempt to guide participants in the right direction. Violation of these guidelines may result in removal from the event at the discretion of the organizers. OhioDDR staff reserves the right to enforce this Code of Conduct at all events sponsored by OhioDDR, and will not tolerate abusive behavior under any circumstances.
Let’s work together to keep the event safe, welcoming, and fun for all!
